NEW YEAR'S DAY MEET 2007 - MELTON MOWBRAY
Monday 1st January 2007

<
We prepare for this traditional event -
sporting for the first time the appropriate Christmas present
(the tie by FOX & CHAVE) - on a bright, sunny New Year's Day.

NEW YEAR - NEW TIE
Leicester Road Bridge By the familiar old Leicester Road bridge over the River Eye
St. Mary's Parish Church from The Play Close To the more recent venue of The Play Close - appropriate because of its proximity to the Basin, the Harboro' Hotel, Coventry House, Cardigan House, Archway House of blessed memory.

The participants entering via Mucky Lane alongside the trees which formed the boundary of Framland House (sadly long-since demolished) of the Soames family.

A far larger crowd of supporters than has been seen for many a long year -
one saying he hadn't seen so many since the 1930s when the Meet was in the town Market Place.

MANES
