and here we are on Scalford Road, Melton Mowbray:

View down Market Shed, formerly the Poultry Shed The one-time Poultry Shed at Melton Cattle Market is the focal point of the Farmers' Market and now contains several lock-up Units.
Elsewhere in the building there are sites let for stallholders. The Units and stall sites are let to farmer-traders at a modest rental and include the use of the main toilet and washing facilities located at the end of the block.
From the early hours of a trading day (Tuesday and Friday) it is a hive of industry as produce is brought in and displayed for sale.
As the Farmers' Market is under cover the vendors and customers alike fare better on inclement days than the street traders in the town and with the now newly-refurbished Restaurant being in close proximity it becomes an almost one-stop shopping area for the local, fresh, straight-from-the-farm goods that are so highly prized in the locality.

Although we have had the pleasure of the company of this firm at Food Fairs here in Melton they have only recently commenced to hold a stall position with their produce at Friday Farmers' Markets.
As their website http://www.tuktukfoods.com/aboutus.htm will tell you "Tuk Tuk Foods is first and foremost a family business, emulating the values of Tukata's Thai heritage, offering only the finest Thai cuisine to leave customers desiring more. The British cookery scene suffers from a lack of authentic female Thai chefs and Mrs. Tukata Bird is the perfect choice to fill the gap. She is passionate about her knowledge of Thai food and enthusiastic about bringing it into the world." A fascinating story unfolds on the website including details of the prizes earned by this dedicated business.

BELVOIR HUNT SUPPORTERS' CLUB held their inaugural stall here on Friday 7th December 2007.
